Pop Biscotti

Inspired by 20^th Century Pop Art, Pop Biscotti was painted out of love for my dog Artorius. The unique shape and curves form the unmistakable structure of a Scottish Terrier to create an interesting design in positive and negative space. The colors may signify a dog’s relationship with different family members, aspects of his environment, or the bold saturated offbeat colors that make up his personality. The color choices may also simply be my personal experimentation with mixing warm and cool primaries.

My intent is not nearly as important as your emotions and ideas when looking at this painting. It is important I add that I was eating biscotti and tea throughout the process and the painting most likely will test for Artorius’ DNA. His hair gets everywhere.
