Which Vitality Perk is better? Marthon Man vs Sprinter in Kingdom Come: Deliverance
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance you have a choice between two perks in the Vitaility Stat. They are Sprinter and Marathon Man. On Reddit u/Squirrel_Dude does an analysis which comes to the conclusion that Sprinter will take you a farther distance than running in normal or Marathon Man speed. You can see the post here.
Vitality Perk Details:
- Marathon Man: You run slower, but keep it up for longer. Your sprint speed is 20% slower, but demands 20% less Stamina.
- Sprinter: You run faster, but also tire faster. Sprinting is 20% faster, but costs 20% more Stamina.
I did a little test and can confirm that the Sprinter perk does in fact take you farther over time.
After saving at the Mill in Rattay I could reload and test both perks plus normal speed. I used a stopwatch to run for 2 mins each time.
- Each time I ran from the exact same spot
- Ran flat out until the stamina was empty
- Walk until stamina was completely regenerated.
- Ran again, etc until the timer expired.
I took a screenshot of the starting location and ending location of each test. Here are the results.
Some players choose not to take either and I feel this is a mistake. Aside from travelling farther, the speed boost will assist you in catching those pesky runners and dashing from a fight.
Furthermore, you can negate the Stamina penalty in Sprinter by taking the Maintenance perk: Seven Mile Boots.
- Seven Mile Boots: If you’re wearing boots you repaired yourself, sprinting will cost you 20% less Staminia, so you can run for longer.
Happy Sprinting!
